State League Soccer - Who Won?

If you follow the South Australian Super League soccer and couldn’t make it to watch your favourite team, you would expect, at the very least, to find the result in the following morning’s only mainstream newspaper. And you’d also expect a little bit of a summary of each of the top tier games, even if it was just the one line, as has been the norm over the past thirty years.

Milicevic Sets The Record Straight

Recently-departed Newcastle Jets star Ljubo Milicevic has hit back at claims that there was player unrest at the club which led to he and the club parting company.
“Player unrest? What a load of garbage. Firstly, the reason I haven’t been playing is due to rolling an ankle. That injury has been well documented, and is clear to anyone who actually seeks out the facts,” Milicevic told sportsplanet.com.au.

It's Adelaide City Again

Adelaide City continued its remarkable run of success , defeating an unlucky Adelaide Blue Eagles 1-0 in the 2010 South Australian Super League Grand Final. A goal from Jonathan Negus in the 48th minute was enough for the Black-and-Whites to add to their well-populated trophy cabinet, in a game which the Blue Eagles could have had in the bag by halftime.

Mori Cautious As City Seeks More Glory

Adelaide City coach Damian Mori rejects the notion that the club is clear favourite to take out this year’s Devine Homes Super League Grand Final. “Being so-called ‘favourites’ means nothing in a Grand Final. It’s what happens on the day that counts” Mori told sportsplanet.com.au as the countdown to the big day begins, when City takes on late-season surprise packet, Adelaide Blue Eagles.

Vizzari Given All Clear For Final

Adelaide Blue Eagles midfielder Adam Vizzari has been given the all clear from the doctors to play in Saturday’s Super League Grand Final against Adelaide City. The gutsy midfielder had earlier this week feared that he had suffered knee ligament damage but, after an MRI scan on Monday, the doctors delivered the good news that there was no such damage and that he would be free to play this Saturday.
